Asturias
For my second biology field trip, we went to my bio teacher's homeland, the region of Asturias. It was really cool, it looked like what I imagine Ireland would look like. The weather was not on our side though, it poured for days, and then, the day we went horseback riding, it snowed. It was like riding a horse in a slushy. We had to cut every one of our outings short, but it was still beautiful.
Also, I just realized I can make all the pictures bigger.
Yeah...our road was somewhere in there...
FIrenze Spring Break
For Spring Break, some friends and I stayed in a villa outside of Florence. It was gorgeous, and it was nice to be staying a bit outside of a city for a little while. The food was, of course, fantastic. It's always the side streets that have the best food. I also ate my weight in gelato. It was fantastic. We saw Michelangelo's David, which was actually one of the most impressive pieces of art I've ever seen. Pictures don't do it justice-it was gigantic, and the level of detail was amazing. No pictures were allowed in the museum, but there are two (I think?) replicas of the statue throughout the city. We also went on a wine tasting, so there are some picture of that, too.
